Ok, also with the new Windows 8.1 release, I’m experiencing serious problems with my external USB3 drive.

I have found this excellent guide, explaining how to replace the broken “Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller – 0100 (Microsoft)” with the Intel driver: Windows 8 and Intel USB 3.0 Host Controllers | Plugable.

The only problem with this guide is the Intel driver: now the Intel website has an updated version and the patched INF to install this driver is not working anymore…

I have found the version and made a ZIP with iusb3hub.inf and iusb3xhc.inf already in place. You can download it here (or here if you have trouble downloading the previous link).

EDIT 2017: added a mirror link.

Hi Huntz,

The download link you provided no longer has the zip file. Any chance you can share the zip file again?

The download link is working for me. You have to click on the link and follow the instructions on the page (like every file hosted on Box).
If for some reasons you cannot get Box working, let me know, I’ll mirror the file on another place…

      Thanks in advance.
